Narberth has a long history of producing, staging, organising and developing work solely for the benefit of its younger community.
Following research in 2011 involving adults and young people from the local community it was agreed that Narberth and the surrounding area would benefit as a whole by establishing a theatre group for children and young people. Launching in April 2011 with just 6 members we have grown quickly and successfully. Now with a membership of over 50 children and young people we strive to create professional and quality work with and for our members.
Members of the Narberth Youth Theatre continue to voice their needs by sitting on the Management Committee. Together we agree on the types of opportunities we should programme to learn new skills, develop as individuals and participate in all aspects of theatre and film production. Not only do younger members of the community have a safe place to go of an evening, but also a place to have fun, experience new skills, and broaden their horizons. Such enthusiasm we choose not to ignore.
Several local businesses, members of the community and theatre and film specialists work alongside us. With their support and professional involvement includes leading specialist workshops, mentoring scheme, skills based learning opportunities, to name but a few.
